Hi Lori,
First, thank you for sharing your story with us here- I'm very sorry to hear about your son- I can't imagine what that must have been like for you, so I'm very sorry.
As for your granddaughter being a crystal child- I don't doubt it at all. Do you think you are an indigo? It's quite possible, especially with all of the experiences you've had. I'm intrigued by your story, and would love to take a look at your chart, but I would need your place of birth (and a birth time if possible) to draw up an accurate one.
In any case, I find that many people have "psychic" abilities- whether it's recognition, or dreams, or just that tingling feeling; it's more common than not.
Since you were born on the 23rd, I'd say you were a Scorpio (I'd have to look at your chart to see the exact degree), and since you are a Scorpio, buckle up because Saturn is getting ready to slip into your 12th house of the unconscious. This is a very psychic house, so you'll be learning how to deal with these kinds of energies on a deeper level- Saturn will give it "structure". As a Scorpio, you know all about "light" and "dark"- that's a given. Do you think that you are a borderline bipolar person, or do you think they just classified you as that because they didn't quite know what to make of you? That happens quite a bit.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI was born Oct. 23, 1958. Throughout my life there have been evidences that I am both signs. I even read a book many years ago about the personality traits of each sign and I was both Libra and Scorpio, and no other sign fit me at all. I even have a literal light and dark side. My father is olive complected and my mother is very fair. Especially in the summer when I tan, you can see that my right hand is lighter than my left. I even have a distinctive line down the middle of my stomach when I tan with light on the left and darker on the right. Whenever I take tests such as personality, color, etc. charts...where there say you can be this and this but not that...well, I can be that and this and this. There are no rules that apply. There are many other areas where this is the case, these are just a couple of examples. I had my IQ tested and I was well above average on both side of my brain. I was even told by a psychologist many years ago that I was borderline bipolar. I have a little bit of psychic tendencies. My daughter has sensitivities to numbers...and I beleive my granddaughter may be a "Crystal" child. She also had invisible friends when she was little. I don't really believe in getting your fortune read...though I have been to a psychic when my oldest child was murdered...he actually brought her to me...I know that sounds weird, but it's true (long story). He too, as well as my youngest, also a son, was/are somewhat psychic. I believe there are real psychics...and that there is a purpose for them in our world. I just believe more in prayer, for myself. Though I really love John Edwards...I know he is a true psychic. Anyway...for some reason this situation of my being a cusp baby seems to be coming up of late...I'm not sure why...and so I've started looking it up (isn't Google the coolest thing) and I found this sight. Thanks for listening... I'd be interested in whatever someone has to say.

Yes, you are absolutely right, but the song accurately represents Carlos Santana's cusp "state". Thanks very much for the post!

You are right, Mercury does conjunct your ascendant (and it makes a whole host of aspects to various other planets in your chart). The key thing to remember with the conjunctions (because they are so close) is that they act as "one". So, for you, you are energy- there is no separation.
If you'd like me to go deeper for you and provide and analysis, you can see my bio page for more information. If not, just know that you really do have a fascinating chart!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajOh, i just realized that my sun conjuncts my mars at 5.17 degrees in house 12! No wonder i feel so scorpionic! Not only are pluto and mars in the same sign, but they both conjunct important placements in my chart. I think the sun-conjunct-mars inforces any cusp-like feelings i might have in the sun department. I also think that my mercury conjuncts my ascendant too, but i'm not sure. Especially since mercury is in house 12, and my ascendant is in house 1. Can you check this all out for me if it's not too much? Thanks so much Jacqueline, i really appreciate all your help! :)
-- Contributed by: AminahThanks! :)
-- Contributed by: AminahHi Aminah,
It's no problem at all! I would say that this is a strong conjunction (because of the degrees) with influence over your entire chart (because of the aspects it makes). And yes, when astrologers say "pluto rising" they mean that Pluto rules your chart (this changes depending on the each person's rising sign).
If you have any other planets in that first house, those will also "rinse" the entire chart. You'll want to look at the influence of those other planets (if applicable) and the aspects those planets make. If you have any other questions, please feel free to write back!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHi Jacqueline, so sorry to bother you, but i just have a quick question. I know that my pluto conjuncts my scorpio ascendant in house 1 at orb +(6.21) degrees. Is this a weak conjunction, or just moderate? And is this what astrologers mean when they say "pluto rising"? And if not, then what does that term mean? Thank you for all your help! :)
-- Contributed by: AminahNo problem Aminah,
If you ever have another question, please feel free to contact us- thanks again for your posts!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajThanks so much! :)
-- Contributed by: AminahHi Aminah,
Yes, that astrologer is right; Pluto and Mars do rule your chart (keep in mind that Mars used to be the ancient ruler of Scorpio). And even though you only have Pluto in the 1st, many believe that planets in the 12th need to be read as if they are in the first.
In short, you need to read for Scorpio and Libra. I understand why you feel so Scorpionic- it's because you have many planets in Scorpio. The real meat here is that you have a packed 12th house, the Sun, Mars, Mercury are all there. Plus, your Mars and Mercury are both in Scorpio. So, all of your energy goes into 12th house matters- that is, you spend a lot of time thinking (Mercury) and directing your energy (Sun) to the 12th.
You are a Libra. You said that you don't like to partner like a typical Libra, but that's not because of the Scorpio- it's because of the Aries. Aries is a very take-charge and independent sign. But keep in mind that Aries does need a partner- one that can balance out their personality.
This is further enhanced in your chart because your Moon is in the 5th (romance) and in Pisces. And actually, earth dominates your chart (7 signs in earth).
Now the reason you have trouble with the more negative qualities of Scorpio is because your Mars in the 12th- hidden. Mars is not particularly comfortable in this house because it has nowhere to go- Mars demands action.
When it comes to the ruler of the chart (here Pluto and Mars) you need to look at the condition of those planets (by looking at the aspects). However, you are all of your chart- even if you have trouble getting over things; you have a bevy of really great, helpful transits. No matter what, you are a Libra, and you need to read for Libra and Scorpio. If you have any other questions, or what to talk about the aspects in your chart, we'd be happy to help- thanks for the post!
Thanks, Jacqueline! You know, i don't really feel like my Libra and Aries are at war at all, in fact it's like they pick up where the other leaves off. If anything, i think the Scorpio in me causes turmoil. A lot of the negative traits in my personality are scorpio-related. I'm vengeful, stubborn, unforgiving... etc. These are things i need to get over. This is why i always felt like i was some kind of libra-freak before i knew about cusps. I like to walk alone. I don't really like partnerships, like your typical libra. One astrologer on Yahoo! answers told me that my chart rulers are Mars and Pluto, and because pluto is in house 1 (along with my scorpio ascendant) and my sun conjuncts mars in the 12th house, my personality would more be ruled by scorpion (or plutonian) traits. I think this, mixed with the fact that i'm on the cusp really doesn't mix well all the time with my aries moon. My aries moon searches for physical strength, while the scorpio in me searches for emotional strength. All the while i natually have good mental strength from the libra. Maybe i'm just taking stabs in the dark, though. What do you think? In your opinion, which dominates my personality more, libra or scorpio? Am i considered just a libra, or am i considered to be exactly a libra/scorpio cusp? And due to the fact that i'm on the cusp, and mixed with my additional scorpio placements (scorp in mars, mercury, pluto, etc.), which sign should i read for as far as horoscopes go? Thanks so much, Jacqueline, this is really helping me end the whole astrological question mark that is my zodiac sign.
-- Contributed by: AminahHi Aminah,
According to my calculations you do have a Libra sun at 28.37 degrees, along with Scorpio rising at 13.07 and an Aries moon at 16.37. You are a Libra, but you are on the cusp. The reason that you are considered on the cusp is because you are within two degrees of a Scorpio sun (anything in astrology within two degrees is considered a very close orb and so would have influence over the aspect).
The other thing I wanted to tell you before we started talking about your chart is that the upcoming eclipses in July (7th and 21st) will affect you as will the August eclipse. For the July 21st eclipse you may need to deal with "fall out" from others- it may not be anything you do, but what others are doing.
The reason you feel split is because of your Aries moon (it's completely the opposite of your sun). So the Libra in you wants to partner up and the Aries wants to go, go, go. So, you are constantly feeling torn about things (even the way you respond to others). You have an incredibly active Mercury (have you ever thought of writing or public speaking?) And because of your Saturn, you may also have problems with the older men in your life. Did you have a specific question you wanted me to look at? Either way, it's not the cusp that should be troubling you, it's really the fact that you need to find a balance between being independent and dependent.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI was born on October 22, 1991 at 8:33 AM in New York City, Bronx, to be exact. I have done many charts before, all of them free, and it always says that my sun is in 28 degrees Libra, and my rising is in 19 degrees Scorpio. The most informative was at Alabe.com. Even years before i knew about birth charts, i always fit the description of the standard libra/scorpio cuspian, especially when i hit my peak of maturity. But Oct 22 is a cusp date right? i heard online that Oct 22 is the "Day of Allure", and anyone born on this day would be approximately between 27 degrees libra and 03 degrees scorpio. And if my sun truly is in 28 degrees libra, does this mean i'm not on the cusp? I do know that 1991 is not a leap year. Thank you very much for your help, this is greatly appreciated! :)
-- Contributed by: AminahHi Aminah,
I would love help, but please right back and tell me where you were born so that I can do a chart for you.
Until I get that, let me help to clarify. First, cusps do happen, but it really depends on the year. That's because each year, the time that the sun moves into one of the zodiac sign can vary slightly (this depends on the movement of the sun), so it is possible that you are on the 28th degree of Libra.
I understand what you mean about feeling "split"; because you say you have Scorpio rising, you would come across as a Scorpio. Once I see your other aspects, I'll be able to share more. Thanks for the question, and please go ahead and write us back with that extra information.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHi, i was born on october 22, 1991 at 8:33 am, and i believe was born on the cusp of Libra/Scorpio. But, when i do a chart it always says that my sun is in 28 degrees Libra, it doesn't mention anything about a cusp. I assume that is because most astrologers don't believe in cusps. I've always felt that i was right in the middle of both signs. I do have a Scorpio rising, but i feel like my sun is split. Is my birthdate and birthyear right on the cusp of Libra and Scorpio? Any clarification you can give me is much appreciated. Thanks :)
-- Contributed by: AminahHi Tweety,
Yes, you most certainly can! I would need to see both birth charts to tell you exactly what aspects would make this relationship easier, but just going off of the sun signs, it's very easy to see how you may be attracted to a fellow Libra. If you'd like to know some of the aspects, please write back with:
- Both birth dates (including the year)
From there, I'd be happy to tell you what I see. Thank you for the question!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI would like to know if a libra/scorpio woman and a libra man are compatible romantically or other wise. because i find my self falling in love with a libra man and I'm a libra/scorpio woman and I cannot for the life of me find anything to show if we are compatible or not. so can someone please help me on this?
-- Contributed by: tweetyHi Alyssa,
You always need to read for your sun sign- in this case, Taurus. The sun sign represents who you truly are (the moon is how you process emotions, and the rising is the way those feelings come across to others). Thanks so much for the question!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline Dautaji have a moon in aries and a rising in libra and a sun in taurus which horoscope should i read?
-- Contributed by: AlyssaHi Nancy,
You would have to read equally for both. The other thing you could do is have your chart done.
This way, you'll be able to see if you have a preponderance of one particular sign, and then you could just read for that.
For example, if you are born on the Cancer cusp, but have a moon and rising in Leo, then the Leo horoscope would make more sense for you. I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks for the post!
hi jacqueline! i have a question , if someone is born on the cusp that means which zodiac or sign should they read more of ! lets say if someone is on the cusp of cancer and leo are they more to read leo or cancer ! thankyou for your help, and i think the article have made much sense for me now!
-- Contributed by: nancyHi OshunMiwah,
Where were you born? And if you are on the cusp, don't worry! This can actually be a good thing!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHI, MY NAME IS OSHUN AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I AM ARIES/TAURUS...MY BDAY IS 4/20/1969, I WAS BORN AT 12:39AM ON THE MORNING OF APRIL 20TH, FIRST HOUR OF TAURUS...PLEASE HELP ME.......
-- Contributed by: OshunMiwahHi Wisdom,
Great question! Without looking at anything else in the chart, and since the moon rules feelings, then the way the person would respond to situations would be like that of a Sag. So, in other words, on an emotional level, they would want people to be happy and jovial. Things of that nature.
However, a lot depends on the degree of the sun sign and on all of the other aspects in the chart. For example, let's say the person considers themself a Scorpio, but has a Sag moon and Sag rising. In this instance, we can easily see the person identifying more readily with Sagittarius. The same thing would be true if the situation were reversed and the individual identified more readily with Scorpio.
One last note. One of the best things a person can have in their chart is to have one sign follow another. So in this case, it would be great if the individual identified with Scorpio, had a Sagittarius moon, and had Capricorn rising. That's because each sign in the zodiac makes up for what the other lacks and in our example above, this would make for a well-rounded personality.
Thanks again for the question!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajIf a person is born on a scorpio/sagittarius cusp, and they have a sagittarius moon does that make them have more characteristics of a sagittarius?
-- Contributed by: WisdomHi Kanha,
A cusp is:
"A horoscope cusp is the term we use to describe a person born in the middle of two adjacent astrological signs".
Please check the chart in this article for even more information. Thanks for the question!
what is a cusp
-- Contributed by: kanha prasadHi Carissa,
That is possible, or it could also be that you have planets in another sign that make strong aspects in your chart. For example, you may be a Gemini, but have a moon and ascendant in an earth sign. To know for sure, we would need to know your year of birth and the place of birth. Please feel free to write back with that information, and we'll take a look for you. Thanks for the post!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI was born on May 22nd at 6:29 am and believe myself to be very much unlike many of the descriptions of the Gemini, is this because I am directly on the Taurus Gemini cusp?
-- Contributed by: CarissaHi Shawn,
No, I would say that you are a Gemini, and should read for that. However, please remember that a lot of other factors go into making your personality (astrologically speaking), like your rising sign, moon sign etc. It's quite possible that you may have planets in Cancer and that would make you more emotional/sensitive. If you have any other questions, just leave them here, along with your birth date, place of birth and time of birth. Thanks for the question!
