Hi Ling,
Thanks for the question! Okay, first, yes, your mom is right- because of the way that your birth date fell; you would be the sign that fell before, in this case, a sheep.
Sheep and monkeys- in general, can have some opposing viewpoints; the same can be said of being with a tiger (sheep tend to get along best with snakes, rabbits and such). That said, if you feel ready to take this momentous step (and your husband is ready), then why not? No relationship is ever perfect, and if this is something you both want to do, then you should follow your heart. Thanks again for the post!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHi there! I have 2 questions and was hoping you can help me with it. 1. I'm not sure what my chinese zodiac is because I'm born in Feb, year of monkey. However, my birthday was before the chinese new year and hence my mom told me that I'm a sheep instead of monkey, does it work this way? 2. Assuming I'm a sheep, my husband is a monkey. We are thinking of having a child in 2010 which happens to be a tiger. Will that be a alright combination or is it better to wait till the year of rabbit? Thanks!
-- Contributed by: LingHi Jennifer,
I'm a firm believer that all signs can get along together if they are willing to work with each other. Your husband is a tiger and you seem to have a solid relationship with him, so I'm sure you can have a good relationship a tiger child. The most important thing is that both you and your husband are ready to take on the responsibility of rearing a child.
Thanks for your quesion, and best wishes.
-- Contributed by: Kelly RoperHi there, Boy do I need some direction, I went to see this amazing Taoist master yesterday. I had seen her once before and she did an amazing reading for me. I asked her about having another child around May of 2010 (which would mean I would start trying soon). She said I should wait until I was sure I would carry past the next chinese new year. Because my Husband is a Tiger and the next baby if born next year would also be a tiger. She said a rabbit would be much better. I am torn, I am 36.5 now so naturally waiting concerns me.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Jennifer
-- Contributed by: JenniferHi Elise,
The earth element and the Ox are both steady and grounded. This can be a good addition to the family mix in nearly any cir...stance. Horses and dragons are typically a bit more excitable and dramatic, so they will definitely add energy to your household, although they may find their older sibling a bit stodgy for their preferences. However, they'll come to appreciate his steady qualities more as they grow older, and they should always feel a connection through his Gemini characteristics.
All of that said, there are always difficulties navigating any family's dynamics. If you raise your children to respect each other and allow everyone their differences, it will all work out in the end. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Kelly RoperHi, I am a Fire Capricorn Tiger and my boyfriend is an Earth Aries Sheep. My boyfriend and I really love each other and work especially well as a team in business. I am pregnant with his child and our boy is going to be an Earth Gemini Ox. Do you think this is a good combination in terms of our family relationship? Also, I do want two more kids after this one and I thought a Wood Horse and Water Dragon would be nice. Reading above, I guess wood and water would get along but would they have trouble with the earth ox? Thanks.
-- Contributed by: EliseHi Gabi, and welcome to the site.
As mentioned above, people from the elements of metal and wood face challenges to their relationships, so they generally have to work harder on them. Additionally, the tiger and monkey are not naturally compatible and often lack chemisty, so again, these two people must work harder to bridge the gaps. However, they can have a decent relationship if they are both willing to give and take. If you're talking about a family relationship, try to persevere. If this is a romantic relationship you're contemplating, it will be more difficult to maintain for the long haul, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try if you truly love your partner. Sometimes good things just don't come easy. Good luck!

-- Contributed by: GabiHi Chris,
As a rule (and remember there are always exceptions), water pigs are easly going and fairly trusting. This doesn't mean they just roll over when someone wants them to do something; they're cooperative when they can be, but they also know how to push right back for what they want.
In comparison, a fire dragon is a force to be reckoned with. This sign can be a bit temperamental. This might go over a little smoother when the water pig is able to give way, but when both of these signs come down on opposite sides of an issue, look out!
While not an easy pairing, this is not the worst matched couple in the Chinese Zodiac. If both partners try hard to consider the other's feelings, this relationship can work out, but there will be challenges along the way to overcome.
-- Contributed by: Kelly RoperWhat about a water pig and a fire dragon relationship?
-- Contributed by: chrisHi Lori,

-- Contributed by: loriHi Angie,
Do you mean in terms of Chinese horoscopes? If you mean more generally, then please list your palce of birth (and times) as well. Thank you!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI was born on 10 nov 1987 and he was born in 26 dec 1984...so are we compatible?
-- Contributed by: AngieHi Ezon,
According to the Chinese Zodiac, you are a Dragon, and your partner is a Tiger. This pairing usually generates strong mutual attraction, but you'll need to overcome a major obstacle. Dragons tend to want to control things while Tigers prize their freedom. This means both of you will need to keep the other partner's needs in mind to maintain compatibility. A relationship based on true affection, trust and mutual respect is the best way to keep a Dragon and Tiger pairing on course. You can say that of any relationship really, but it is essential when pairing these two signs. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Kelly Roperi was born on 17 feb 1988.she was born on 20 dec 1986.are we compatible?time unknown.
-- Contributed by: ezonHi Rod,
This combination has a chance of working out well. Remember, astrology signs only temper our personalities. Our environment has a lot to do with the values we acquire. If your cousins stress family as more important than money, I'm sure that little ox will grow up to be a family-oriented adult.
Thanks for your question.
-- Contributed by: Kelly RoperHi Hello,
The compatability between rat and ox is generally good. The fact that both parties were born in a wood year should strengthen the relationship and give them more in common.
Thanks for your question. :)
-- Contributed by: Kelly RoperMy two cousins are a Monkey and a Rat, and they want to try for a baby right now. The baby will be an Ox, will there be harmony between the three of them. They are afraid the baby will be a work horse like most Ox people, and will not make time for family!?
-- Contributed by: Rodd RizzoI would like to know the combination between wood rat and wood ox. I did not see anything for Wood/Wood.
-- Contributed by: HelloHi Jackie,
This article refers to the fixed elements, the basic nature of each sign. As we move through a twelve year cycle, the signs are paired with the element that governs a particular year. So being born in 1976, you would indeed be heavily influenced by the fire element.
Thanks for your question.
-- Contributed by: Kelly RoperHi,
I was born in 1976 and from what I have sen on other sites I am consider a fire dragon. Here I see that I am either earth or wood. Which element am I ?
-- Contributed by: jackieHi Stella,
Horses are known for their cheerfulness and adventurous spirits. As for rats, they tend to be super intelligent and clever. Ox, on the other hand, is sometimes a bit more quiet and patient. No matter which sign you end up having, it is the tenor of the relationships that will really set the tone. For more, please see Chinese Astrology Compatibility for even more information. Thanks for the question!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHi Kate,
I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you. Rats do tend to get along with monkeys, so that's good on that front. Also, please remember that much more so than astrology; it is the general dignity and respect that you bestow upon one another that really determines how well everyone gets along. Thanks for the post and good luck with the new baby!

-- Contributed by: stellaI am a bit concerned because I am a tiger, my husband is a monkey and we have a rooster son, with a rat on the way. How is the compatibility?
-- Contributed by: kateI'm a pig and my partner is a tiger. Is there any chance of us we would be good for each other in the long run?
- Hi Ari,
The good news is that there is good potential for a lasting relationship between pig and tiger because these signs are easy to get along with. Here's where your differences come in. Pigs love to have a lot of support from their partners, and enjoy a lot of closeness. Tigers are loving partners, but they do have an independent streak and value having some time to themselves. If you can avoid crowding your tiger too much, and if your tiger can keep your need for closeness in mind as much as possible, this relationship has the potential to work, but you both must remain flexible.
Best of luck!
-- Contributed by: AriWhat is the compat. for: Tiger, Snake, Rooster, and Rat?
- Hi Kelly,
The good news is that there's a lot of potential for compatibility here. Snake and Rooster share a naturally high compatibility. Tiger and rat have a lot in common, which tends to make them compete with each other, but they can make the relationship work. Tiger and rooster really need to make the effort to work to together, and snake and rat should find compatibility if they can respect each other's differences.
Thanks for your question. :)

-- Contributed by: GeorgeHow do I determine the correct element when Ox and Rat are both Earth and Water according to your chart?? Thank you!
Earth = Dragon Rat Ox
Water = Pig Rat Ox
- Hi Dawn, this means you carry characteristics of both elements. However, earth's influence is very mild. :)
