Gemini Taurus Cusp

From LoveToKnow Horoscopes

The Gemini Taurus cusp is one of the more interesting degrees in astrology. In fact, being born on a cusp in general can lend a certain richness, a diversity and a depth to the individual’s personality.

What is a Cusp?

In astrology, the start and end dates to the astrological signs are not set in stone. This has to do with the earth’s axis, its rotation and how that pertains to the time it takes for the sun to enter a specific sign. To alleviate any confusion, the dates that bookend any given zodiac sign area called cusp dates.

This can cause a lot of confusion to those who are born on the cusp dates, as they may feel as if they don’t really belong to any one sign. Truth be told, however, they really shouldn’t allow themselves to feel disturbed. Being born on a cusp can actually be quite beneficial to your personality, and to how others perceive you.

Benefits of the Gemini Taurus Cusp

First, there really are no disadvantages to speak of when it comes to the Gemini cusp, as every aspect in astrology is all about finding out more about yourself and getting closer to the “source” or the seat of the collective consciousness. Jere are some of the benefits.

A Wider World View

At first blush, this may not seem like such a big deal, but when you consider that we live in a world that’s growing ever-more interconnected by the minute, this benefit begins to show its advantages.

In very simple terms, Gemini is talkative, Taurus is reticent. Gemini is a “mental” sign, Taurus is stable and firm. When you merge these two signs together, however, these different personality traits begin to come together.

Born of that is an ability to understand a multitude of differing viewpoints. This can be extremely beneficial in both your professional life and your personal life. Whether you’re called upon to mediate a conflict at work or home, the Gemini Taurus cusp gives you the capacity to fully understand the grievances of those who are arguing, as well as to come up with a workable solution.

Personality “Negatives” are Diminished

This is one of the very best things about being born on the cusp, and it works similar to having a sun sign and a rising sign (or a moon sign) that are adjacent to one another.

Here’s how it works. In astrology, the signs “build" on one another, or put another way, make up for what the previous sign “lacks”. For example, Leo’s boldness “makes up” for Cancer’s shyness. Cancer’s deep and complex emotions "make up" for some of Gemini’s glibness.

You’ll find this same process at work in an individual who has a Libra sun coupled with a Scorpio ascendant. Whereas Libra may only be concerned with things that are beautiful and just, Scorpio will provide a depth of character.

So too is it with the cusp between Gemini and Taurus. Whereas Gemini might be a bit cold or logical, Taurus, with its stabilizing forces, will diminish these traits so that instead, you’ll come across as a relatively thoughtful person. Traditional Gemini traits like chattiness, speaking without thought, and a certain duplicity will all get toned down a bit.

More Friends

Now that the negatives of each sign have been toned down, like the stubbornness of Taurus and the prankster in Gemini, you’ll find that you get along with more people. This means you’ll make more friends. Not only will you make more friends, but the quality of those friendships are apt to be even richer and full of depth than it would have been had you not been born on a cusp date.

The End Result

It can be confusing when you first learn that you’re born on a cusp date, but the truth of the matter is that you’re much luckier for it. Chances are good that because of that cusp, you probably have a much more well-rounded personality than most, and that’s something every one finds attractive!

Hi Polly,

Speaking of sexual compatibility only, the two of you have:

  • Venus Square Pluto
  • Mars square Mercury
  • Uranus conjunct Neptune
  • Pluto Opposition Mercury

Squares in astrology create internal tension, and when it comes to sex, you can see why these aspects can work themselves out nicely.

However, outside of the bedroom, these aspects can reflect jealousy, arguments and things of that nature. Short term, this doesn't have to be an issue at all. If the two of you'd like to build something long term, then these aspects would have to find a way to be expressed in a positive way.

Hi Polly,

No problem! The sexual aspects between the two charts are actually the best aspects, so that may be a big reason why the two of you are together. How long have the two of you been dating?
