Facade Tarot
Facade tarot strives to offer a fun and unique take on tarot reading.
The Art of Tarot
The reading of tarot cards is an ancient art that marries many different subjects; the tarot is rife with deep, esoteric symbolism that speaks to the various archetypes or roles that you play. Additionally, instead of just one tarot deck, the famed Rider-Waite edition, there are now literally hundreds of decks you can choose from. Combine that will all the various tarot spreads and their meanings, and it's easy to see how tarot can be confusing.
How Facade Tarot Can Help
Facade Tarot can help cut through some of that confusion. There are a number of advantages to the site including:
- A myriad of different tarot decks from which you can choose
- The ability to choose a unique tarot card spread
- Fun activities like reading a tarot spread for famous celebrities such as Angelina Jolie or Will Smith
The combinations are truly endless, so here's how Facade Tarot works:
Getting Started
When you visit Facade Tarot, you'll see a dark blue box highlighted on the left-hand navigation tool.
- Within that box, type in your question
- Choose your deck
- Choose your spread
Once that's done, you have the option of allowing the spread to show cards that are reversed; choosing to do so is a personal decision, so do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
Tips on the Reading
When it comes to the reading itself, these tips might help:
- Try not to ask yes or no questions because doing so may narrow your scope of understanding the answer you receive.
- Choose the spread you are most familiar with if you plan on studying the cards, along with your reading, because you may notice or remember something about the symbolism that's not mentioned.
On the other hand, if you are new to tarot, you should select a deck that makes you feel most comfortable.
- You'll also want to choose the appropriate spread for your question. For example, if you are inquiring about a relationship (it doesn't have to be romantic one), select the relationship spread. If your questions are about your career, the creative process spread might be best.
The Reading Itself
The reading that's given is quite insightful. The first thing you'll notice is that the overall spread looms fairly large, so you'll be able to see much of the intricate detail that goes into the drawings on each card. From there, each card is shown on the left-hand side of the page, while the center relays the meaning of the cards within the context of your question.
Additionally, you'll also have the option of clicking on an individual card and reading a bit more about its symbolism. Moreover, if you happen to find a deck that you particularly like, you also have the option of purchasing it through the site.
Additional Divinatory Options
Beyond tarot, you can find other divinatory options on the site. Namely, the runes, numerology and the I Ching are featured here as well. Further, if you do have a yes/no question, and don't have the time to read through an entire passage, you might want to consider the Yes or No function housed on the site.
A Word of Caution
Facade Tarot is a computer-generated site, so don't take it to heart if you receive an answer that you're not particularly happy about. If you really want to understand the tarot cards, it helps to either have some working knowledge of their history and symbolism, which can easily be accomplished through diligent study, or to have a professional you trust read for you.
That said, few divinatory methods can take the place of your own innate sense of self, wisdom and contemplation. So if you are grappling with a difficult situation, be sure to ask the expert, yourself, first. With a little bit of thought, you should be able to come up with the best and most positive solution for your unique situation.
