About Chinese Astrological Signs

The Rat

In the eastern hemisphere, the Rat is held in high regard. It's considered a good luck symbol, so if you happen to be born in the year of the Rat, you have some excellent qualities to fall back on.

You're considered quick-witted and you certainly know how to generate wealth, as well as hold on to it. However, if you're not careful you can easily become greedy. You can be charming and generous to your close friends, but you also have a propensity for putting yourself first, so work on this weak spot in your character.

The Ox

According to Chinese astrology, the Ox is a noble character indeed. Oxen are natural born leaders, known for their dependable nature.

If you're an Ox, you probably don't know the meaning of the word "quit" and you'll plow forward until you reach your goals. Because you carry this same sort of determination through other areas of your life, you can also be perceived as a bit stiff and uncooperative at times. You also tend to "tell it like it is", but you must strive to soften your tone with others.

The Tiger

Tigers are take charge people. You have a certain animal magnetism that naturally draws people to you, and while you can be the life of the party when you choose, you value time spent alone.

You also have a tendency toward being overly emotional. Quick to anger, you can tear an opponent to shreds with your tongue, so you need to be careful with your words. On your better side, you're a firm idealist who will fight to the finish for the things you believe in.

The Rabbit

Rabbits are not the most powerful of the Chinese astrological signs, but they are one of the most selfless. In fact, you probably give a little too much in your relationships, and this leads to being taken advantage of, so it's important that you develop your survival skills, and remember to look out for yourself.

Rabbits blossom when they have security, whether it's in their home or personal relationships. Without it, you tend to go off kilter. Not to worry, your finer qualities have likely won you a cadre of loyal friends who will come to your aid in times of need.

The Dragon

Dragons are extremely lucky people, filled with charisma! If you fall under this sign, you also appreciate the accumulation of power and wealth. You know what you want and exactly how to get it.

You can be quite giving, but some of your rasher decisions can put people off. If you can learn to be more flexible with the people around you, you are sure to make a success in life.

The Snake

Snakes are masters of the intuitive arts. They tend to stand back and access a situation before they dive in. If you're a Snake, you're also adept at seduction.

Slow to start, Snakes will follow a task through to the end if it's something they truly believe in. However, their public bravado lies in stark contrast to their somewhat insecure natures. The real challenge for a Snake is to learn to be comfortable in your own skin!

The Horse

Horses appreciate roaming the range and love to travel. You value your freedom! You're also cursed with raw sensuality, so finding romantic partners is easier for you, although keeping them is more difficult without feeling trapped.

Horses tend to ignore the big picture in favor of going with the moment. Your biggest challenge is learning to appreciate what you have before you can truly put down roots.

The Sheep

Foggy and dreamy; these are words that aptly describe people born in the year of the Sheep. Sheep live more inside of their heads than they do in the real world. If you're a Sheep, you probably excel at various arts.

Less materialistic than other signs, you're not so likely to accumulate wealth. Although you can be a generous lover or friend, you also tend to be a bit needy, and this can wear people out. Learn to find security within yourself, and then you won't be so dependent on others.

The Monkey

Monkeys know how to have fun, so naturally they are surrounded by plenty of friends. If you're a Monkey, you probably also enjoy a keen sense of wit that entertains your companions.

Care free to a fault, you probably find yourself in a bit of a scrape from time to time. You also lean toward excess, whether it be in matters of food, drink or love. Although you seldom own up to a mistake, you have enough sense to lie low until the storm blows over. Your biggest challenge is realizing that the world revolves around the sun and not yourself!

The Rooster

Roosters are known for being straightforward and rarely have the wool pulled over their eyes. They are perfectionists, and this quality serves them well in their high powered careers.

Roosters are quite practical and appreciate a sense of order. They are also very aware of their appearance and will spend hours perfecting every detail! Their biggest obstacle is learning to appreciate their inner self as much as their outer shell.

The Dog

Trustworthy, but less than trusting; that's the hallmark of the Dog. This sign may try to live by unreasonably high standards, but Dogs do make incredibly loyal friends.

Dogs tend to be moody, and aren't very skilled at making polite talk. A Dog would rather talk to you about deeply important topics. They also have a great need for activity in their lives, otherwise they put too much time into worrying about tomorrow.

The Pig

The Pig enjoys a place of honor, renowned for its manners and optimistic nature. Pigs love the good life, but they are also certain to take good care of those around them, and they love feeling needed.
